Mojo Webb Band

Laid-back blues to raunchy soul from a perennial favourite.

The review

The Mojo Webb Band provided outstanding variety within the genre, every mode between laid-back blues and raunchy soul. Mojo’s vocals moved effortlessly between growling soul and clear, early-Motown melody, and his blindingly brilliant guitar shows why he is one of the foremost blues guitarists in South East Queensland and the Northern Rivers.

Strong, driving, sensitive accompaniment came from Coojee Timms on drums and J.B. Lewis on bass guitar.

Special guest “Scrubby” Two Fingers Hurcombe (two fingers, due to a DIY cutter mishap!) on slide guitar was a musical treat, and Jed Stone on keys, a noted blues pianist and organist, turned standards like “Telephone Blues” and “Luckiest Man Alive” into a serious jam session.

Easy to see why Mojo Webb is a perennial favourite at the Condong Jazz and Blues Club.
